The swimming action by Maarten van der Weijden, in which he raised 3.5 million euros for cancer research, yields 450,000 euros for research into pancreatic cancer for Radboudumc.

Iris Nagtegaal, theme Tumors of the digestive tract, was interviewed by Omroep Gelderland about her research into hereditary pancreatic cancer. In this project, she tries to link specific histological features with DNA abnormalities in order to improve identification of hereditary pancreatic cancer. This project is one of the eleven studies that Maarten van der Weijden chose to support with a share of the 3.5 million euros he swam together last weekend.

Regional newspaper The Gelderlander and VOX also published an interview with Iris Nagtegaal.
