Quirijn de Mast medical specialistQuirijn de Mast works as internist-infectious diseases specialist. His research interests are tropical infectious diseases and role of platelets in infectious diseases.
His PhD focused on hematological changes in malaria and included studies performed in Tanzania and Indonesia. He is involved in supervision of PhD students from The Netherlands, Tanzania and Indonesia. Research projects include the role of platelets in dengue, HIV and bacterial infections. Together with psychiatrist dr. Arnt Schellekens, he was awarded the first Radboud Personalized Healthcare grant for a project involving psychiatric side effects of first line HIV treatment.
Quirijn de Mast was trained as an internist and infectious diseases specialist in the Jeroen Bosch Hospital and in Radboudumc. He was closely involved in the establishment of the Radboud Travel Clinic. He is also participant of the Galilei talent program.
