Mid Summer BBQ Physiology 2019

The department organized its traditional BBQ on June 12nd. Many colleagues and students were present at the selected location " Slot Doddendael".

The department organized its traditional BBQ on June 12nd. Many colleagues and students were present at our event. This pleasant happening of our department was preceded by our biannual cleaning event. For Dutch standards the weather was enjoyable, and the BBQ was a huge success with a superb food buffet.

During our traditional BBQ the awards for the best students of 2018, the Prof. Rob Binkhorst and the Prof. Carel van Os prize, were announced. The jury selected the eligible students based on:

• The assessment of the internship
• Contribution of scientific knowledge to the Dept. of Physiology
• Personal development
• Devotion to / participation in our department

Charlotte Castenmiller was selected as the winner of the Prof. van Os prize and Astrid Hermens was selected as the winner of the Prof. Binkhorst prize. We wish the prize winners  all the best, and hope that these awards are the start of their wonderful scientific careers!
