Research Departments Medical BioSciences News Bursary Grant and Poster Prize for Sara Roig Merino

The European Biophysical Society Association Congress 2019 (EBSA) took place in Madrid the past 20th-24th of July. The EBSA organizes a congress every two years enrolling some of the cutting-edge researchers in biophysical sciences, promoting scientific spreading and working for a strong interconnection between societies. Scientific dissemination and discussions taking place thanks to this congress are of outstanding quality. This year, two Nobel prices presented in plenary lectures: Stefan Hell (2014) and Gregory Paul Winter (2018).

A group from the Physiology Department participated in the congress presenting newly acquired data: Jenny van der Wijst, Sara Roig Merino and the Msc students Stijn Couwenbergh and Rozemarijn van der Veen. In this context, Sara Roig was awarded with the EBSA Bursary covering registration and accommodation expenses in order to attend to the congress and one of the Poster Prizes.
