Research Departments Medical BioSciences News Young Investigators Award

This year’s Symposium that was held in Oslo, Norway, covered the latest news in Norwegian cardiac research, included talks on research challenges during the Covid-19 pandemic, artificial intelligence in cardiac imaging, new perspectives in heart failure, and new challenges and approaches in exercise and arrhythmias.

46 PhD students had been selected to present their research abstracts during the symposium's rapid fire abstract session. Kristian Berge presented the abstract “Advanced glycation endproducts and coronary atherosclerosis characteristics in middle-aged and older male athletes”, which is a collaboration work between Radboud UMC and Akershus University Hospital in Oslo, Norway, and was awarded first prize in the biomarker session
