Farewell Nicolai Giling a triple A rating

As of October 1, Nicolai will have a new position as managing director of the new Radboudumc research institute, and so he will be leaving as business manager. A good reason to put him in the spotlight.

Quite a job to support 5 departments, because this means that many things come along five times: five times making a budget, five times quarterly reports, and five times a days-out, in addition to that his have performed many other activities.

As far as René concerned, he deserves a triple A rating for all his work, where the triple A's stand for All-rounder, Attention and Ambition. 

All-rounder
Besides serving the 5 departments, many other things came along, such as RIMLS Next, with which a first start has been made to set up a research front office, special attention to the research-related ICT issues, and of course calamity chief, in case of COVID outbreak, fans suddenly malfunctioning, and broken power supply to name a few. Of course, let’s not forget the LEM where he also devoted a lot of energy to renewing the equipment and recruiting new customers. We have always found it clever how you managed to combine these things and it is remarkable that during many meetings he takes short minutes, which as sign that the meeting is over are immediately circulated. Extremely efficient. 

Attention
Attention to colleagues, actually better phrased FULL attention to colleagues, regardless of his own busy schedule, he always makes time for this: a real listening ear. This is particularly appreciated of Nicolai.

Ambition
Ambition that led him to look out for a new challenge, and partly inspired by RIMLS Next Nicolai found it in the position of managing director of the new research institute, which he will lead together with Guillén Fernandez. We hope that the work experience he has gained with us will help him achieve this position.
