28 August 2018

The Blue Diamond Gallery To ensure clarity regarding the specifics of informed consent or the withholding thereof by patients, there are plans to place generic building blocks for informed consent in Epic.

These building blocks are extracted from the information letters that patients receive and can be added to a sub-biobank’s  Castor database via a link.

The CMO-light has agreed to this proposal and Information Management will build the blocks in Epic. This method will ensure more uniformity in the use of informed consent. Other UMCs are also planning on implementing similar initiatives.

Written information and the Informed Consent form have been adjusted accordingly. (View/download document). The written information has also been updated in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG) that has been valid since 25 May 2018.
