Research Radboudumc Technology Centers Radboud Biobank News Biobank First implications of the Radboud Biobank new business model

15 July 2025

It was communicated in an earlier news item that the Radboudumc Board of Directors decided to change the Radboud Biobank business model. The first periodic invoices have now been sent to biobank collections and projects that are actively collecting samples. In addition, the new rates for the issuance of samples from biobank collections have been implemented, i.e. a graduated fee for samples (<10: €1,00 per sample – 10-99: €0,75 per sample - ≥100: €0,50 per sample), lab technicians labor costs, and eventual material and transport costs. Note: the graduated fee for samples does not apply to projects, but the remaining costs will be charged to the applicant. If you are interested in an estimate of the costs for an issuance, you can contact the Radboud Biobank.
