Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated all-around Research Technician to join our dynamic and collaborative team. Our mission? To better understand the molecular mechanisms driving dysfunctional sugar metabolism and protein glycosylation in human genetic diseases affecting the muscle and the brain. Are you our new colleague?

Using patient-derived stem cell and knockout cell models and mouse tissues, we apply cutting-edge metabolomics and (glyco)proteomics to dissect disease mechanisms in rare genetic metabolic disorders. Our ultimate goal: translating fundamental insights into better diagnostics and new therapies for patients.

As a key player in our team, your daily activities will include, but are not limited to cell culture, cell-based assays, metabolite extraction from mouse tissues, stable and transient transfections, and cytochemical stainings and microscopy, and possibly targeted mass spectrometry. You will be responsible for designing, planning, and executing your own experiments independently, as well as analyzing and reporting your results and ideas in close collaboration with the group. You will be supporting several projects at once so we are looking for someone who thrives in a dynamic work environment, and enjoys jumping into different challenges while still keeping the bigger picture in mind.
