On Wednesday March 4th from 4:00 PM – 06:30 PM we will start a new mindfulness course for PhD's at our Radboudumc Center of Expertise for Mindfulness.
Doing a PhD demands a lot of you. Supervisors who set high standards, data collection that doesn’t get going, all the courses, lectures and conferences you need to attend and don’t forget the pressure to publish your papers. PhD candidates experience a lot of pressure and often feel distressed. Mindfulness means: “being aware of the present moment with a non-judgmental attitude”. When unpleasant thoughts or feelings arise we tend to reject or to avoid them.
The training consists of 8 sessions of 2,5 hours and one silence day. The training will be given by Johan Karremans.
During the course you will learn to become aware of your experience without judging them. The course aims to teach you how to have a more accepting attitude towards your thoughts, feelings and emotions. This might help you to cope more effectively with stressful situations.
