The theme for this year’s annual congress, prevention from prodromal to palliative, follows the public discourse on eliminating Parkinson’s disease’s inherent adversity from the general population. To optimize inclusion, prevention has a broad scope, ranging from the earliest prodromal stages until palliative care.
The programme includes a keynote by Thomas Foltynie (UCL), presentations of promising research by various Dutch research labs, discussions with patient researchers and researchers, as well as poster presentations for researchers to display their works.

The ParkinsonVereniging will share how they communicate to their members, experience experts will provide practical tips and tricks on how to communicate your research, and you will work together on your own text. All written texts can be published on the website of the ParkinsonVereniging afterwards.
Moreover, the best summary will be published in the magazine of the ParkinsonVereniging! We start at 13.00h and we will close the pre-conference with drinks at 17.00h. This will be a great opportunity to disseminate your work and to connect to other junior researchers in the field.
The junior DPS pre-conference is free for junior DPS members. After the pre-conference, we will have a dinner where all senior members are also welcome to join. The dinner and stay for the night are at your own costs.
We hope to see you in Nijmegen on the 2nd of November!

If your research can be linked to primary, secondary, or tertiary prevention of PD or parkinsonism, please make sure to emphasize this in your abstract. Note that a link to prevention is not a requirement to submit an abstract and does not influence the likelihood of acceptance.
Abstracts should be structured (Background, Objective, Methods, Results, Discussion), contain no more than 250 words, and be submitted as pdf. You can mail your abstract to: dps@amsterdamumc.nl. The deadline for submission is September 15st.
