The 1st European PhD and Postdoc symposium has started in Barcelona with outreach activities for schools and an “ask the scientist” meeting on science and cancer for interested locals. RIMLS is a proud partner of this European funded project, as one of the four organising institutes.

This symposium is organised by and for PhD’s and postdocs with the theme “Breaking down complexity: innovative models and techniques in biomedicine”. The aim is to open the academic world from within and promote crosstalk between biomedical disciplines, collaboration with industry and engagement with society.

Therefore, bright young scientists from all over Europe have gathered to meet each other in Barcelona. This inspiring event is also organised to build bridges between the young scientists, the future of our European science.

With outreach activities on Tuesday, a career and personal development event on Wednesday, and scientific sessions on Thursday and Friday, this symposium brings a whole new concept of Scientific conferences.

In total four editions will be organised with the funded European grant. The next editions will take place in:
2018 Copenhagen (Center for Protein Research)
2019 Nijmegen (RIMLS)
2020 Milan (SEMM)
