Four young scientists of the Renal disorders theme were selected to present their 2017 publication by a short oral presentation. Subsequently, the audience scored the four presentations based on scientific and societal impact, presentation skills and handling of questions by means of a digital scoring system.
The winning talk was given by Nils Rother, Dept. of Nephrology (left on the picture) and was entitled: “Acetylated histones in apoptotic microparticles drive the formation of neutrophil extracellular traps in active lupus nephritis” (Published in Frontiers in Immunology, September 2017)
The first edition of the Renal Disorders Talent Award was held at the Radboud Research Round last week.

New insight into the effect of hydroxychloroquine undermines its use in corona
11 June 2020 Researchers at Radboud university medical center have discovered an as yet unknown effect of hydroxychloroquine. Raphael Duivenvoorden was interviewed in the program Op1 at NPO1 to elaborate on the findings. It seems unlikely that chloroquine has beneficial effect in corona infections. read more
