About BJ Kullberg

Bart-Jan Kullberg's main research interests are the treatment and immunology of invasive fungal infections. He has been involved as a principal investigator or board member of various international clinical trials on antifungal therapy. Other areas of interest and research are antibiotic stewardship and Lyme disease.

He obtained his MD and PhD from Leiden University, and was appointed as Professor of Medicine and Infectious Diseases at the Radboud university medical center in 2003, where he is chair of the infectious diseases training programme.

Bart-Jan Kullberg has served on the IDSA guidelines committee for candidiasis, the ESCMID guidelines committees for candidiasis and aspergillosis, the ECIL guidelines committee, and on the board of the international Mycoses Study Group (MSG). Since 2001, he has been an executive board member of the Dutch Working Party on Antibiotic Policy (SWAB), which initiated the national antimicrobial stewardship program.
