About us

The Ophthalmology department is a top tertiary center for various eye diseases, and is a leading expert in the treatment and management of retinal diseases. Besides daily clinical care, we research diseases of the retina, in particular age-related macular degeneration, central serous retinopathy and inherited retinal dystrophies.

The main goals of our research are to better understand the molecular basis of these diseases, and to develop new diagnostic devices and therapies.

Our department is an official research center of the Foundation Fighting Blindness USA.
