Imaging Expertise and services
Areas of expertiseOur innovative Imaging Technology Center provides you with a wide range of equipment and expertise for Imaging research.
We focus on early detection and early treatment of common diseases. It covers fundamental research on a molecular level, development of new medical devices and software tools, and translation of these results to clinical applications that can be used in daily routine. Our mission is to bridge the gap between research and clinical practice and to help shape the future of healthcare. We use technology to make healthcare more affordable by increasing automation of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, thus freeing manpower for those areas in patient care in which the "human touch" is most needed.
The five fundamental science groups cover ultrasound, biomedical MR, diagnostic image analysis, nuclear medicine and advanced x-ray tomographic imaging. Clinical research is mainly focused on prostate, breast, chest and vascular disease.
ServicesThe Imaging Technology Center provides cutting-edge technology and expertise for imaging-related preclinical and clinical research, more specific:
Clinical Imaging Center
This is a facility for multimodality imaging of humans. The center has state-of-the-art equipment for PET/CT (Siemens mCT), MRI (Siemens 1.5T, 3T and 7T), multislice CT (320-slice Toshiba), and Ultrasound (Toshiba, Siemens, Philips, Samsung-Medison).
About 600 researchers in this cross-faculty research institute probe the neural basis of cognition in health and disease. Their expertise combines cognitive neuroimaging with anatomical and functional MRI, also implementing advanced (electro)-physiological, genetic, and cognitive assessments.facilities Donders
Center for Automation in Medical Imaging
This center provides a software platform to support image-based clinical and preclinical studies by providing an effective viewing and (quantitative) evaluation environment that includes modules for algorithm development and high-end automation to speed up evaluation of large imaging databases.
