Biobanks are an indispensable part of the infrastructure for health research. That is why BBMRI.nl, Parelsnoer and Health-RI are joining forces. The aim is to bring together all parties that play a role in setting up, managing and using biobanks in the Health-RI Biobank Community. The community is committed to further develop the national biobanking infrastructure by mapping and linking Dutch biobanks, creating more awareness about the importance of pre-analysis for the reliability of measurement results, development and use of uniform and preferably evidence-based protocols, establishing clear processes for reviewing biobank research and linking different data sources. The community will work in close collaboration with individual biobanks, researchers, national and international policymakers and funders, patients, and other stakeholders.
