About
We aim to characterize the underlying mechanisms that drive the development of (pre)diabetes and its complications and to develop appropriate care by including technological innovations resulting in a personalized approach to reverse the negative impact of (pre)diabetes.
Aims
We aim to:
- Determine the value of technology in people with (pre)diabetes;
- Elucidate the role of innate immunity in the pathophysiology of long-term micro- and macrovascular complications and explore the benefit of anti-inflammatory interventions;
- Disentangle the relationship of obesity with the immune system, predisposing to the development of (pre)diabetes, and study the effect of (non)-pharmacologically-induced weight loss.
