On Friday, September 4th, 2026, Dorine Swinkels will retire as Professor of Experimental Clinical Chemistry at Radboudumc. She is also leaving the Radboud Biobank, where she was responsible for directing and supporting laboratory management. In addition, she was responsible for developing the vision and policy regarding biobank-related topics such as pre-analysis and fit-for-purpose.
On the occasion of her retirement, a program has been organized consisting of a symposium titled ‘Progress in iron health and disease: from research to clinical care’ and her farewell lecture titled ‘IJzers in het vuur’.
