The Biobank Information Management System, iLES, is now linked to Castor EDC. This development was realized within a KWF-funded project and makes it easier for biobank collections to link clinical data and stored biomaterial.
At Radboudumc, iLES is used to register, manage, and track participants' biobank samples. Castor EDC is used by many research groups to record clinical research data. Until recently, these information sources were separate, requiring researchers to manually check which samples were available for a participant. With the new link, that is a thing of the past. This saves time, reduces the risk of errors, and supports more efficient preparation of scientific research.
