This research group explores the feasibility and diagnostic accuracy of cerebral perfusion imaging in neurosurgery. We compare several techniques, including Magnetic Resonance (MR) and Flat Panel Computed Tomography, and develop new applications for cerebral perfusion imaging in the Hybrid-OR.Aims of this research group

A systematic review comparing FP-CT cerebral perfusion imaging with CTP and MRP in diagnostic accuracy showed very little evidence, mostly pilot- and feasibility studies in subjects with cerebrovascular disease.All studies were set outside the Hybrid-OR in the angiographic room and half of the studies were conducted in animals. A few small studies with moderate quality assessments compared FP-CTP with CTP and showed high diagnostic accuracy in patients with cerebrovascular disease and good correlations between both techniques.
