17 October 2019

Recently, the CMO-light decided to allow invasive procedures for biobanking under strict conditions.

When establishing a biobank there is initially no concrete research proposal.  Until recently the METC (CMO-light) did not allow invasive procedures subject to the Medical Research Involving Humans Act for biobanking unless there was a specific research question.  Recently, the CMO-light decided to allow invasive procedures for biobanking under strict conditions. Procedures must be relevant and carry minimal burden and risk for the participants.
