Radboudumc Top Research Programs are research programs recognized for their outstanding scientific quality, societal relevance, and future viability. They were designated following an independent evaluation under the Strategy Evaluation Protocol. The designation applies to the period 2026–2031. Each program demonstrates academic excellence and strong potential to improve health and healthcare. The Top Research Programs receive additional support from the organization to further strengthen their research, collaboration, talent development, and international visibility.

Atherosclerosis and thrombosis

This program aims to impove personalized risk prediction, prevention, early detection, diagnosis, and treatment of atherosclerotic and thrombotic cardiovascular diseases. 

Biomarkers for health(care) discovery and implementation

This program aims to understand and translate insights in mechanisms of disease into robust and innovative biomarkers to support health and healthcare.
