Sarcoma patients: suffering from late diagnoses and old-school drugs
Two investigator-initiated studies in sarcoma patients, using the digital PRO system PROFILES (Patient Reported Outcomes Following Initial treatment and Long term Evaluation of Survivorship), run in sarcoma centers in the Netherlands and the UK. The QUEST study investigates the impact of the diagnostic pathway in sarcoma patients on Quality of Life, stage at diagnosis, primary treatment and clinical otcome. The HOLISTIC study aims to assess the impact of chemotherapy on Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQoL) in patients with advanced soft tissue sarcomas, meant to enable well-informed decisions of sarcoma patients on palliative treatment in the future and provide a benchmark of HRQoL in advanced STS patients treated with chemotherapy.
