Over Esmée Bakker
Esmée Bakker obtained her master degree in Biomedical Sciences at the Radboud University in 2016. During her Masters she visited the Iowa State University where she was supervised by Dr. Duck-Chul Lee. Thereafter, she started her PhD at the department of Physiology at Radboud University and at the Liverpool John Moores University in the United Kingdom. Her research is focused on physical activity and cardiovascular epidemiology. Esmée examines the effects of physical (in)activity on cardiovascular health within the area of primary and secondary prevention. Her goal is to determine how much physical activity is needed to improve health and to determine the health risks of a sedentary lifestyle.
